This is a Kosta Boda Artists Collection hand-painted glass vase, blown in Sweden and designed by the late Ulrika Hydman-Vallien.
The vase is in excellent condition. This means, of course, that it shows some wear and tear to the base and elsewhere commensurate with use.
The vase is of shouldered ovoid form with a collar neck, and is blown in clear glass which has then been hand-painted with flowers in blue, green red and grey enamel. The neck has been painted in blue/green with grey blazes. The base is painted in black. The upper rim measures 5.5 cm (2.2 inches) in diameter. The vase flares out and measures 9.5 cm (3.8 inches) in diameter at its widest point. The vase is 15.7 cm (6.3 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches, or any obvious signs of restoration. The black paint on the base is rubbed. It bears a foil label to the base that reads “KOSTA BODA © Kosta Boda AB Sweden HANDMADE”. The words “Kosta Boda Artists Coll. 48576 Ulrika H.V” are etched onto the underside of the base. It weighs 385 g. (~ 13 1/2 oz.).
