This is a pair of early Victorian mouth-blown patty (paté) pans or jam pots dating from the middle of the 19th century. Known as patty pans in the UK they called jam pots (pots a confiture) in France.

The patty pans are in excellent condition for their age. This means, of course, that they show age related wear and tear to the rims of the bases consistent with some 180 years of age and use. They have polished out pontil marks on the underside of the bases.

The patty pans have bucket shaped bowl which are 7.8 cm (3.1 inches) in diameter at the folded over rims. The bases measure 4.5 cm (1.8 inches) in diameter. They are 5 cm (2 inches) in height and weigh 95 gm. (~ 3 oz) each. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
