This is an orange studio vase, designed and blown by Peter Layton in his London studio.
The vase is in excellent condition for its age. It shows some age related wear and tear to the base commensurate with use. It has a rough pontil mark to the base.
The vase measures 11 cm (4.4 inches) in diameter at the slightly undulating bowl rim and is 22.5 cm (9 inches) in height. The bowl is blown in orange coloured glass with streaks of a lighter colour giving the effect of hot lava in flow. The vase is signed to the base “Peter Layton” in script. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any evidence of restoration.
The vase weighs 1.61 kg. (~ 3 lb. 9 oz.).
