This is a pair of mouth-blown cut glass lead crystal case decanters in the 18th century style but probably blown in the 19th century; although the decanters may be 18th century with associated 19th century stoppers.
The decanters are in excellent condition. They show minimal age related wear and tear consistent with use. They have polished out pontil marks to the underside of the bases.
The decanters are of compressed octagons in shape and measure 8 cm (3.2 inches) by 7 cm (2.8 inches) across and are 21.5 cm (8.3 inches) in height. The decanters are flat-cut with a floral design in the 18th century fashion. The decanters have slightly dissimilar facet cut stoppers, so at least one is a replacement. Both wobble gently in the neck. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any other evidence of restoration. Each decanter weighs 535 g. (~ 1 lb. 3 oz.).
